BMX race in Lincoln raises funds for cancer research

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Hundreds of people gathered at the Star City BMX Track on Monday night for a cancer research fundraiser.

People came out to try BMX racing and watch the fireworks from the Uncle Sam Jam at nearby Oak Lake Park.

Wade Uldrich, who has been involved with Star City BMX since 1982, said the Race for Life started over 50 years ago.

People ages 3 to 75 competed in the event.

All of the proceeds will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help researchers find a cure from cancer.
