Body found east of Lincoln identified; Omaha man arrested in homicide

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has identified the human remains located east of Lincoln.

Authorities said Thursday that the body is 34-year-old Cecilia M. Perez of Omaha, who was reported missing on Tuesday.

Her death has been classified as a homicide.

The investigation has been turned over to the Omaha Police Department, according to a press release. The sheriff’s office said it will continue to help OPD.

OPD said in a press release that the homicide unit conducted an investigation and arrested 33-year-old Raymond Evans of Omaha on suspicion of criminal homicide.

The body was found Tuesday afternoon in a field near 98th Street and Havelock Avenue, just east of the Lancaster Event Center.

Crews were clearing trees around 3:30 p.m. when they discovered the body.
