Thompson is currently being held in Nebraska without bond, but is expected to face charges in Wisconsin of first-degree intentional homicide, burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon, hiding a corpse and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.

He is also facing charges in Nebraska for flight to avoid arrest and willful reckless driving.

Law enforcement officials believe the crime was random, and Thompson had no previous relationship with Segebrecht.

According to court documents, Thompson is set to be arraigned in court on Friday at 2 p.m.

The sheriff’s office in Iowa County has scheduled a press conference at the same time.
