Body found in apartment building chimney identified as missing Nebraska man
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Norfolk Police Department has identified the body that was found last week in a chimney.
Zachariah Andrews, 29, of Norfolk was last seen on Sept. 15, nearly a month before being found dead in an apartment building’s chimney.
On Sept. 16, police were sent to the apartment near Third Street and Northwestern Avenue after a resident heard a man yelling for help.
By the time officers arrived, the yelling had stopped, police said. No one else at the apartment heard the yelling.
On Sept. 20, a parking warning was placed on Andrews’ vehicle, which was parked near the apartment.
He was reported missing on Oct. 3, police said, and his body was found on Thursday. An investigation is ongoing.
