Bond for former Lincoln sports reporter set at $1M
Brian Rosenthal, 49, faces four counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child in Nemaha County.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A judge on Tuesday set bond for a former Lincoln sports reporter at $1 million.
Brian Rosenthal, 49, faces four counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child in Nemaha County.
“We have four accounts I believe at least a bond of $5 million would be appropriate your honor,” said Angelo Ligouri, deputy Maharanee County attorney.
Prosecutors asked the judge to set bond at $5 million, but that request was declined.
The charges stem from alleged assaults of a child between the age of 12 and 16 spanning December 2017 to February 2018.
Further details of the allegations were sealed by a judge.
Rosenthal was arrested late last month at his home in Lincoln, where investigators also seized numerous electronic devices.
Rosenthal worked for the Lincoln Journal Star until 2016 and Huskers.com until 2020.
Rosenthal is scheduled to appear in court again later this month.
