Bond set at $1 million for man accused in southeast Lincoln stabbing

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was charged with two felonies Wednesday in a stabbing at a southeast Lincoln business complex.

Timothy Bowie, 42, is facing first-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

Lancaster County Judge Laurie Yardley set his bond at $1 million, and he would need to pay 10% — $100,000 — to be released.

The stabbing happened about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Long Professional Center near 48th Street and Normal Boulevard.

When officers arrived, a 43-year-old man was “covered in blood,” according to court documents.

But the victim was able to tell them what happened, police said.

Bowie, whom the victim knew, stabbed him at least three times during a robbery attempt, according to an arrest affidavit.

Investigators found a “significant amount of blood” in a bathroom, the affidavit says.

Officers saw Bowie about four blocks away and took him into custody. Police said he had blood droplets on his clothes.

The victim was taken to a hospital and immediately underwent surgery for life-threatening wounds.

On Wednesday, police said they are still looking for the weapon.

Bowie is due back in court on July 10.
