LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The man accused in a deadly shooting in a west Lincoln parking lot last week appeared in court Wednesday.

A Lancaster County judge set 20-year-old Ge’Auvieon Crayton’s bond at $5 million, according to court records.  He must pay $500,000 to be released.

The Lincoln Police Department said Crayton shot Francisco Alvis, 25, inside a pickup truck near South Coddington Avenue and West A Street late Friday night.

Crayton was buying marijuana from Alvis, according to Capt. Ben Miller.

On Saturday around 7 p.m., investigators took Crayton into custody near 25th and Holdrege streets.  He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Investigators searched Crayton’s home and found live rounds that matched the bullets recovered at the scene and a handgun magazine, according to police.

An arrest affidavit was not yet available as of Thursday morning.

Crayton’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 15.
