The 125th Boston Marathon was scheduled for April of 2021 (Patriot’s Day), but organizers say the earliest runners can line up is that fall. With all marathons prohibited in Massachusetts until they move into phase four of their reopening plan, organizers decided an April race just wasn’t feasible.

This is actually the second Boston Marathon that has had to be altered due to the coronavirus, as the 2020 race virtually over ten-days.
No postponed date has been announced, but organizers will be monitoring coronavirus numbers and working closely with medical professionals to determine the safest option.
