Both drivers seriously injured in crash north of Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — At least two people were seriously injured Tuesday morning in a crash north of Lincoln.
It happened just after 9 a.m. at U.S. Highway 77 and Waverly Road, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
An eastbound Kia Sorento stopped at the highway, the sheriff’s office said, but the driver didn’t see a Chevy Trailblazer that was going south.
The Kia entered the highway, and the two SUVs collided and went into the median, according to Capt. John Vik.
The drivers were taken to a hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening, the sheriff’s office said.
They were both wearing seat belts, Vik said. It’s not yet known if anyone else was in the vehicles.
