BREAKING: Huskers season opener officially canceled.

The University of Nebraska announced late Saturday night that Nebraska’s season opener against Akron has officially been canceled due to severe weather.

Nebraska’s first game of the season is now set for Saturday, September 8th at 2:30 p.m. against Colorado on Channel 8 ABC.

Any adjustments to the schedule or further ticketing updates will be announced at a later time.

FOX Sports, the TV network broadcasting Saturday’s Nebraska-Akron game, originally reported the game would be played Sunday, September 2nd at 10:30 p.m. on FS1. That is no longer accurate, there is no Huskers football set for this weekend.
