UPDATE: Man flown to Lincoln hospital after two semi accident north of Fairbury

One man was taken via medical helicopter to a Lincoln hospital after a semi vs. semi accident Wednesday. 

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 8 Eyewitness News the crash happened north of Fairbury on Highway 15 around noon.

JCSO confirmed one of the drivers was taken by StarCare to Bryan West in Lincoln with serious injuries. 

The other drive was not seriously injured. 

The driver who was transported was distracted and ran into the other semi while it was trying to turn, officials said. 

The road was closed to traffic while crews processed the scene, but it has since been reopened.
