Breezy Thursday- Record Breaking Warmth Friday

Today: Temperatures will be warmer across the state with highs in the 70s. Southwest winds will be a bit breezier, making for a somewhat beautiful Thursday! Patchy DENSE FOG will develop near and along the Missouri river Friday morning. Fog development= moisture increase!

Friday: Record breaking warmth! Temperatures will reach the  upper 70s and some lower 80s with south winds up to 20 mph and plenty of sunshine. Record: 75 degrees (1990).

Weekend: Any yardwork or decoration plans? This weekend will be the time to do it! Saturday, a cold front will move through bringing temperatures into the 60s. Monday- Tuesday, rain and possible rain/snow mix across Nebraska with temperatures near average (54 degrees). Stay tuned to the forecasts through this weekend.

On this day in 1972, Lincoln received 1.46″ of rain and over 7.7″ of snow — a messy mix that made for a wild day across the capital city! In 1999, Lincoln saw a high temperature of 85 degrees. It can be cold and it can be cold and messy this time of year.

A warmer Thursday afternoon, high temperatures will warm into the 70s under mostly sunny skies by the afternoon and breezy SW winds.
