Breezy & warm Conditions Starting Sunday
Saturday night plans look dry and BEAUTIFUL! Cloud cover, calm winds & patchy fog will keep temperatures mild. A light jacket will be nice for any night time plans.
Sunday morning will have areas of patchy dense fog from McCook and area east. Visibilities could reach less than half a mile in spots. This could limit high temperatures in the afternoon, depending on when the fog lifts. The fog should lift by 10am as winds begin to pick up.
Sunday golf plans? The morning looks very nice, lighter winds in eastern Nebraska with temperatures in the 40s. By Sunday afternoon, temperatures warm up into the 60s & 70s under sunny skies and breezy SW winds up to 20+ mph.
Gusty SW winds will start out west Sunday and move east through the evening. Wind gusts up to 20-35+ mph.
A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect through Sunday evening for all of western Nebraska. Temperatures will be mild with gusty south winds and low RH values. Also severe drought conditions leading to dry vegetation.
Our next small precipitation chance comes late Tuesday as a weak cold front moves through. Tuesday will be WARM and moist in eastern Nebraska, meaning better chances for light rain.
Temperatures will continue to warm up through next Wednesday. Tuesday night, some light rain possible from a big system in the Dakotas. Wednesday night brings our next cold front along with increasing precipitation chances. A light mix possible Thursday, but mainly rain likely due to the warmth we have experienced. Thursday- Saturday looks to be our best chance for measurable precipitation. Stay tuned for the latest.
