Breezy, warmer end to this week before fall returns
Clouds increased overnight and led to much warmer temperatures so far Thursday morning. Most of eastern Nebraska was experiencing temperatures that were 15-20° warmer than yesterday morning’s chilly 30s and 40s.
A mix of sun and clouds today will turn mostly sunny to boost temperatures into the upper 70s.
A decent breeze out of the south will be around 20-30 mph in the afternoon for eastern Nebraska today.
A weak front is going to drive dew points a little higher the second part of Thursday, eventually shifting winds for a light north breeze on Friday.
Yet temperatures will be just a little bit warmer Friday afternoon, nearing 80°again.
The warmest day coming up will be Sunday, though. Gusty weekend winds will be noticeable as temperatures warm to the middle 80s on Sunday.
Past this weekend, the roller coaster ride will drop off because of cooler temperatures and rain chances early next week toward the middle of October.
And it’s fun to check in on the holiday countdown as we’re about three weeks away from Halloween.
Thanksgiving, Christmas and colder weather will be here before you know it, too.
