Bridge demolitions to close Interstate 80 in late December

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska Department of Transportation on Thursday announced the demolition of two bridges over Interstate 80.
The Northwest 112th Street bridge and the Northwest 84th Street bridge will both be demolished on Dec. 22.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes will close on I-80 at 8 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. on Dec. 23.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured at the Milford interchange and routed north to Nebraska Highway 34.
Drivers will go east on Highway 34 and reenter I-80 when the two roads meet in northwest Lincoln.
Westbound traffic will be detoured at the I-80/I-180 interchange and routed west on Highway 34 to Matzke Highway, turning south and getting on I-80 at the Milford interchange.
In the event of bad weather conditions, the schedule will be changed.
