Britt Prince marks career high in scoring as Huskers down Rutgers to start road trip

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska women’s basketball team took care of business on the road Sunday, beating Rutgers 69-62 at Jersey Mike’s Arena.
The two team entered the fourth quarter tied, but the Huskers outscored the Scarlet Knights 21-14 in the final period to take home the win.
Star freshman point guard Britt Prince led the Huskers with a career-high 24 points. Alexis Markowski tallied 14 points while hitting better than 50% from the floor.
Markowski also paced the Huskers in rebounds with 14, marking her seventh double-double of the season.
Prince, Callin Hake, Amiah Hargrove and Alberte Rimdal each had three assists.
The Huskers shot a solid 41% from the floor compared to Rutgers’ 35.5%.
Kiyomi McMiller had an outstanding night for the Scarlet Knights, scoring 33 points with two rebounds and two assists.
Destiny Adams tallied 12 points, while Awa Sidibe posted 10.
Nebraska improves to 13-4 overall and 4-2 in the Big Ten.
The Huskers will continue its road trip on Thursday, heading to Iowa City to take on the No. 23-ranked Hawkeyes at 6 p.m.
