Bryan East begins $47M renovation project

“I am most excited about how it will serve the community for a little over three decades,” Vice President of Advancement, Bob Ravenscroft said. “Long term planning and modernized surgical suites will affect physician recruitment, retention, accommodate new and emerging equipment that hasn’t even been invented yet.”
Improvements will be made to public spaces, clinical areas and surgical suites. The updates also include adding new technology throughout the facility. The idea of creating more space was an important aspect of the design.
“They need a little bit more elbow room, a little bit more room to take advantage of the technology that is out there,” Sheets said. “There is a lot more equipment, a lot more people to go into our operating room and this will give them a little more space to be able to work more efficiently.”
Officials say this project will impact a lot of people.
Number of surgeries performed at Bryan Medical Center (both campuses) thru November 2018:
– Inpatient procedures: 6,429 (584 per month average)
– Outpatient procedures: 7,421 (675 per month average)
During construction at Bryan East Campus, extra staff will be available to help people around the renovation.
