LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Seward County deputies seized nine guns after pulling over a California man on Interstate 80 back on Aug. 25.

Around 2:30 p.m., a deputy pulled over a Nissan Altima because of a traffic violation on I-80 southwest of Seward.

The deputy became suspicious of 31-year-old Demitris Bow, believing he was involved in criminal activity, the sheriff’s office says.

A K9 was brought out and smelled drugs inside the vehicle.

During a search, deputies found nine handguns and several magazines.  Two of those handguns were reported stolen, according to the sheriff’s office.

They also located $19,660, which the sheriff’s office believes could be money earned from selling drugs.

Bow was then arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of U.S. drug currency.

He was lodged in the Seward County Detention Center, the sheriff’s office said.
