California man sentenced for defrauding over $200K from elderly Nebraskan

A California man was sentenced Monday in federal court for wire fraud.
Robert Goldman, 60, was sentenced to 27 months in prison and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $221,414.
Authorities say an FBI investigation determined that Goldman obtained personal bank account information of a 90-year-old Nebraska resident. Between January 2016 and August 2017, Goldman made approximately 180 wire payments from the victim’s bank account to his credit card.
Investigators determined that Goldman used the fraudulently obtained funds to pay for trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas, shopping excursions, gambling, and other personal expenses.
