LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A California woman will spend a decade behind bars for being caught with several pounds of meth in Nebraska.

Daisy Flores, 22, was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years and one month in prison for possession with intent to distribute meth.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said an Otoe County sheriff’s deputy pulled over a Ford Expedition near the Nebraska-Iowa border on Feb. 6, 2022.

During a search of the vehicle, authorities found 8 pounds of meth and 4 pounds of marijuana.

A crime lab found that the meth was 89% pure, according to the sheriff’s office.

After her release from prison, Flores will serve a three-year term of supervised release.  There is no parole in the federal system.

Teresa Martinez, Flores’ mother, was also in the vehicle.  She was sentenced in November to more than seven years in prison.
