Canine cornucopia: Lincoln’s Capital Humane Society offers dogs at half price

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln animal shelter is near capacity of dogs that need a new roof over their head.

A promotion is running for dogs at the Capital Humane Society till Sunday.

All dogs 5 months and older will be reduced 50% off their original adoption fee.

If you or someone you know would benefit from taking one of these mutts home, consider taking a look at what is available.

Executive Director Matt Madcharo said the shelter offers a foster care program for those who want to help but are not ready to adopt yet.

“Sometimes (pets) need to be treated for a medical issue or something like that, or sometimes they simply just need a break from the shelter environment,” he said. “Those foster parents take the pets home. We provide all the food, all the medical supplies and all the other supplies.”

The shelter houses several other animals, like cats that you can also make the perfect home for.

Visit the humane society’s website for pictures, costs, foster parent sign-up and more information.
