Capital Humane Society capacity improves after 47 adoptions this weekend

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Capital Humane Society found some relief this weekend.

The Lincoln shelter announced in a Facebook post on Monday that there were 47 total adoptions between dogs, cats and other critters.

Back in May, the shelter asked the community for help as they were at 100% capacity for dogs in both its locations.

Last week, it offered a 50% off promotion to encourage adoptions.

The shelter said 20 of its 47 adoptions this weekend were dogs.

According to the shelter’s social media, the Admissions & Assessment Center is now at 83% capacity for dogs, while the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center is at 53% capacity.

The shelter also said the Admissions & Assessment Center is 78% of its cat capacity, while the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center is at 48%.
