LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Capital Humane Society on Monday gave an update to Zephyr’s recovery progress over the weekend.

Zephyr is a 9-month-old black Labrador puppy who was rescued from a pumpkin patch in late September.

The humane society has been giving regular updates on Zephyr’s recovery progress, which has improved significantly since she was rescued.

In the latest update, officials said the puppy barked for the first time.

They said she is doing well with her physical therapy sessions and she was able to walk herself from outside back inside to her kennel.

According to the human society, she is showing more interest in her surroundings and environment, too.

She no longer has the nasal feeding tube and was taken off IV fluids on Monday.

“All of these are great signs and at this point we are waiting for her GI panel results to come back from Texas A&M, which will be later this week,” the human society said.
