Capital Humane Society in need of food donations for pet pantry

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Pawsitive Impact Project is collecting donations for the Capital Humane Society’s pet pantry.

Donations can include pet food, like dog and cat food, and can be either dry or canned. Any food donations should not be opened or expired, or they will not be accepted.

The pantry is also looking for treats, collars, leashes, toys, grooming supplies, litter and litter boxes, dog gates, carriers and any other pet supplies people are willing to donate.

The shelter’s director of behavior and placement, Lauryn Nobbe, says the project aims to help people in the community who are in need of these supplies by providing the donations free of charge.

“The price of everything is going up, and it’s just difficult if you’ve got multiple cats or even like a big dog,” she said. “You go through a lot of food, and you want to keep them happy and healthy.”

The pantry will be open every Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. for the rest of the summer through August.

Any donations can be brought to either the Admissions and Assessments Center at 2320 Park Blvd. or to the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center at 6500 S. 70th St.
