The Capital Humane Society is hosting a “kitten shower” Saturday in honor of National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month.

It’s a free public event at the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center, located at 6500 South 70th Street, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

People thinking about adopting can take a look at the center’s cats and kittens while playing games for a chance at some giveaways.

Now that the weather is warming up, Lindsay Wallasky of the Capital Humane Society said there are more kittens to choose from.

“It’s always a good idea to come to the shelter to a look first,” Wallasky said. “That way, you’re giving an animal a second chance at a forever home and a new lease on life, too.”
