Car bursts into flames on southwest Nebraska highway
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A vehicle erupted into flames over the weekend near Arapahoe, the Furnas County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.
About 2 miles south of Arapahoe, rural fire crews on Saturday were sent to a car fire on Highway 283.
The road was shut down temporarily as crews worked to extinguish the car fire.
No one was injured, but the sheriff’s office said the vehicle is a “total loss.”
A small stretch of grass in a nearby ditch was also burned.
The sheriff’s office thinks the fire started because of a flat tire on a vehicle that was in tow.
