Two injured after car crashes into southeast Lincoln building

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A car crashed into a building Monday afternoon in southeast Lincoln.

The crash was reported about 2:30 p.m. near 48th Street and Normal Boulevard.

Police said a 77-year-old Lincoln woman accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The vehicle went through the All Feline Hospital, hitting two people standing in the lobby, according to police.

LFR crews rescued a 66-year-old woman from underneath a desk and the vehicle.  She was taken to a hospital with a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

A 44-year-old man was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The three employees in the room were not injured, police said.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue said the building remains structurally sound.

The veterinary clinic stayed open after the crash. LFR said the business had a contingency plan that allowed it to keep operating.
