Car fire temporarily closes Highway 77 outside of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A car fire erupted just outside of Lincoln on Monday, closing a portion of Highway 77 for a short time.

The fire was caught on Nebraska 511’s traffic cameras around 5:30 p.m. — near the Roca exit — with black smoke surrounding the area.

One picture shows that southbound Highway 77 was closed for a time.

As of 6:20 p.m., both lanes have reopened.

There are no reported injuries related to the car fire, and there is no word on how the fire started.
