A single car accident near Lincoln High sent four to the hospital Monday night, after Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews say the car hit an electrical pole.

It happened on Capital Pkwy between Randolph and J streets.

LFR says the driver and three passengers were all taken to the hospital with non life–threatening injuries; two of them had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life.

Crews are still unsure of what caused the crash.

“It’s under investigation right now, you know coming around that corner could have played a key role in it,” says Capt. Scott Bistin of Lincoln Fire and Rescue.

LFR took an extra precaution by blocking access to a fence near the school; because the fence was wet, there was a chance the electrical pole could energize it.

LES was called to the scene as well, traffic was closed off in both directions for a short time.
