Case advances against Kearney woman accused of killing husband

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A central Nebraska woman will stand trial in the death of her husband.

On Thursday, a Buffalo County judge found probable cause to try Karen Geisler and sent her case to district court.

Court documents say she 58-year-old shot her husband, 62-year-old Jimmy Geisler, on Oct. 20 at their home in Kearney.

Jimmy Geisler was taken to a hospital, where he died five days later.

Karen Geisler is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

Her arraignment in Buffalo County District Court is set for Dec. 20.
