Case advances against Lincoln man accused of dealing meth

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man facing a raft of drug and weapon charges pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
Christopher Simpson, 32, waived his preliminary hearing in Lancaster County Court, and his case was sent to district court.
In December, police searched a home near Southwest Eighth and West A streets, where Simpson lived with 46-year-old Jason Small.

Court documents say they found about 41 grams of methamphetamine and 4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in the garage.
Two handguns and ammunition were hidden inside a subwoofer, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police think both guns belonged to Simpson, a convicted felon who is prohibited from owning firearms.

The affidavit alleges that Simpson was selling meth, while his roommate, Small, was just using.
Simpson is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of money while committing a drug offense and four weapon violations.
Small is facing one count of possession of a controlled substance.
While Small was out on bail, police said he fled from a traffic stop in Omaha.
He is due back in Douglas County Court in that case on June 6.
Simpson is scheduled to be arraigned in Lancaster County District Court on May 28.
