Catholic clash in Class C-2: Conor Booth leads Bishop Neumann past Cedar Catholic

WAHOO, Neb. (KLKN) — Wahoo Bishop Neumann hosted Hartington Cedar Catholic in the playoffs Friday night, defeating the Trojans 24-21.

It was quite wet on the field, but that didn’t stop either team.

On the first possession of the game, Cedar Catholic quarterback Braeden Reifenrath make a quick pass to wide receiver Nolan Becker.

He was able to run it in the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown with 6½ minutes left in the first quarter.

Bishop Neumann responded quickly with a huge run by Conor Booth, who broke tackles left and right for a Cavalier touchdown.

The Cavaliers successfully went for 3 before the end of the first quarter to tie up the game at 10.

Six minutes into the second quarter, Booth had yet another massive run, scoring a 60-yard touchdown.

But Cedar Catholic felt confident with the passing game, as Reifenrath went for a quick pass to wide receiver Jaymison Cattau for a touchdown.

The score was 17-13 at the half.

Both teams were able to score once more, but Bishop Neumann was able to hold off Ceder Catholic to keep the season alive.

Next Friday, the Cavaliers will face Battle Creek in the Class C-2 semifinals.
