Cattle rescued from semitrailer after crash near Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several cattle were rescued after a crash Monday morning near Omaha, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 7:30 a.m., a semitrailer hauling 36 cattle crashed with a pickup truck at Blair High and Bennington roads, just north of Omaha.

The drivers were not injured.

The sheriff’s office said the cattle trailer overturned, trapping a few cows inside.

Crews extricated the cows and transferred them to a different trailer.

In a post on Facebook, the sheriff’s office thanked the Nebraska Humane Society and other partners for helping at the scene in subzero temperatures.
