CEDARS duffle bag drive provides kids with items to call their own

When children go to CEDARS Home for Children in Lincoln, they often don’t have many possessions of their own, and carry what they do have in a plastic sack or garbage bag.
The duffle bag drive going on May 12-19 is working to change that.
CEDARS has teamed up with the Home Builders Association of Lincoln to give kids a brand new duffle bag, full of items to call their own.
They’re asking people in the community to drop off duffle bags at one of their many locations around Lincoln.
President of the Home Builders Association Denny Van Horn said their mission of building people’s dream homes made perfect sense when pairing up with CEDARS.
“That’s what they’re doing for children in need, they’re trying to find children a long-term dream home where they can live and be supported by loving parents and family,” Van Horn said.
The dates of the duffle bag drive are set up in conjunction with the Home Builders Association of Lincoln’s Parade of Homes.
