CEDARS strives to make the holidays special for kids in need

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – CEDARS assists nearly 700 kids and their families year-round, helping them with tailored services to best meet their individual needs. They provide safety and stability to help kids achieve the essentials needed to thrive.
Throughout this holiday season, CEDARS wants to make the holidays special for every child in its care by giving them each a gift picked special for them, just as they have in the past.
Last year, a young mother named Sydney, was in the Transitional Living Program with her two children Keely and Mark. When the holiday season came around she was excited to celebrate with her children in the warmth of their apartment but she was worried she might not be able to provide for her kids. With the help of donations from the public, CEDARS was able to give each member of Sydney’s family gifts from their wish list.
To ensure that every kid receives a present from their wish list this season, CEDARS is encouraging the community to make cash or gift card donations. Trusted CEDARS staff, who have built strong relationships with each kid, will then shop for the items that they know the kids will be excited to receive. Cash gifts can be made online at CEDARSkids.org, and gift cards can be dropped off at CEDARS, located at 6601 Pioneers Blvd in Lincoln.
