Center For People In Need helping provide families with Christmas gifts

Some of Santa’s helpers have been hard at work at The Center For People In Need.
Families from across Lincoln have been Christmas shopping for their kids at the center as part of their annual Toyland event.
Over 700 families came through on Saturday and they expect to have over 1,300 families come through by the end of the weekend.
For those who come through the Toyland event it’s a chance to give their kids a gift on Christmas, something they would otherwise go without.
“We’re doing whatever we can to help them give a little something so they can release that burden and so the kids can wake up and have a few presents under the tree,” said Steve Sheridan, the program director for The Center For People In Need.
If you have not gone to the center’s Toyland event you still have a chance.
It will be open on Sunday 1-3 p.m and on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m.
