Center for People in Need hold annual Toyland event
The event will run through Dec. 7.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The holidays can be a stressful time for some, so the Center for People in Need is trying to help those in need during this holiday season.
The center is hosting its annual Toyland event. During the event, toys are provided for low-income families. The event will be held through Dec. 7 from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.
The toys are offered for newborns and all the way up to 18-years-old.
This year, the center is offering a bike raffle. Anyone who participates in the event can enter to win a bike for their child.
“So many families are struggling to just keep food on the table, keep a roof over their head, and when Christmas comes around it’s very difficult for them to provide gifts for their kids,” says Chris Funk, executive director of Center for People in Need. “So this is a way that we help them, help families be able to celebrate the season a little bit more than they normally could.”
If you do not have a center card, you can apply online or apply at the center before the event. These cards are based on income.
The center will also be holding a flu and COVID vaccination clinic on Monday from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.
