Central Nebraska man sent to prison for having hundreds of child porn files

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A central Nebraska man will spend six years in federal prison on child porn charges.
U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon sentenced Frantz Kolbjornsen, 44, on Tuesday for receipt and possession of child pornography.
In 2023, investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol were monitoring a file-sharing network when they noticed that a child pornography file had been downloaded.
They traced the IP address that downloaded the file to a device that was leased to Kolbjornsen, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
The patrol obtained a search warrant for his home in Phillips, a village just east of Grand Island.
Investigators said they seized four electronic devices. On those devices, they found 638 images and 163 videos of child pornography.
After prison, Kolbjornsen will be on supervised release for five years. There is no parole in the federal system.
Bataillon also ordered him to pay $18,000 in restitution.
