Central Nebraska sheriff accused of insurance fraud

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A central Nebraska sheriff was arrested Tuesday after a months-long investigation into insurance fraud, the patrol says.

Casey Hurlburt, the Valley County sheriff, is accused of fraudulent insurance acts, a Class IV felony.

The Nebraska State Patrol investigated the case with help from the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office.

Hurlburt was taken to the Hall County Jail.  An investigation is ongoing.
