Cheaper, easier parking during Husker home games found in nearby neighborhoods

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Anyone trying to find parking near Memorial Stadium during Husker home games knows it could take a while, or cost a pretty penny.

Whether you are from out of state or a local, game day parking can take a hit on both your patience and your wallet.

For years, Husker fans have tried to find ways to combat what many feel are overpriced parking spots that take advantage of drivers.

Residents of Lincoln’s North Bottoms district have developed a relationship with fans that is easier on their wallets.

“People that park cars here, we usually watch them,” North Bottoms resident Sandy Wrobliski said. “We’re here all the time so nothing happens to the cars, and you can get in and out pretty fast.”

The North Bottoms isn’t the only option for parking that saves the bank.  Neighborhoods surrounding Antelope Valley and south of the Capitol participate in private parking.

This is something to keep in mind for the upcoming home games.
