City of Lincoln hosting two hazardous waste collection events in October

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincolnites can take unwanted chemicals to two hazardous waste collection events in October.

In a press release Wednesday, city officials said the free events will be held on Oct. 6 and 7:

  • Oct. 6, 2 to 6 p.m. at the Raymond Fire Station (4210 W. Raymond Road)
  • Oct. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Star City Shores (4375 S. 33rd Court)

People can drop off a wide array of items, including pesticides, cleaning products, paint thinners, rodent poison and old gasoline.

But officials said firearms, ammunition, batteries, motor oil and fertilizer will not be accepted at the events.
