City of Lincoln says to expect traffic delays ahead of Guardians of Freedom Airshow

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The City of Lincoln has some traveling tips for the Guardians of Freedom Airshow this weekend.

The free shows on Saturday and Sunday will be held in Airpark from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the city expects over 100,000 guests each day.

  • From Interstate 80, take exit 395 to Northwest 48th Street and head north, following the airshow signs.
  • From West O Street, take Northwest 48th Street and head north, following the airshow signs.
  • From eastbound Highway 34, turn onto Northwest 48th Street and head south, following airshow signs.
  • From westbound Highway 34, turn onto the Northwest 27th Street exit and head south, following airshow signs.
  • StarTran Route 46-Arnold Heights riders are encouraged to plan for delays due to airshow traffic.

Officials said drivers should stay alert and expect an increase in traffic on Interstate 80 in and around Lincoln.

Visitors can find free parking from Northwest 48th Street to the airshow grounds and from Cuming Street to Mathis Street.
