LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – City crews worked overnight Saturday to make sure weekend drivers had the best possible road conditions with the snowfall that accumulated and are focused on trouble spots throughout the morning.

Twenty trucks were out spreading salt pre-wet with brine on roads and bridges and kept up the pace overnight as needed. Channel 8 crews saw several trucks out Saturday morning in the early hours at major intersections.

Light snow was still falling Saturday morning, but it was the residual part of the snow system and no further accumulation was expected. The Winter Weather Advisory expires at noon.

Private snowplow contractors were seen clearing parking lots of businesses before the busy weekend rush of shoppers.
