City officials want two new fire stations for LFR

Four fire stations for Lincoln Fire and Rescue are under construction, but city officials said they want to build two more. 

They’ve started the process of acquiring land for the new stations. They said if they buy early, land costs are much lower. 

Lincoln Fire and Rescue said the cost of buying land can be six times higher if it’s needed immediately, so it makes sense to buy land early.

They haven’t said where the new stations will be built.
