City reschedules two Lincoln street closures to Wednesday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two portions of South Street will be shut down Wednesday for tree removal projects.

The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department said South Street between Broadmoore and Pacific drives will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

City officials recommend taking South Street to 56th Street to A Street to 70th Street as a detour.

South Street between 48th and 49th streets will be closed from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Drivers can take 48th Street to Normal Boulevard to 56th Street as an alternate route.

StarTran Route 40 will be detoured during both closures.

The closures were originally scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday, officials said.
