Cold doesn’t stop Lincoln Black Friday shoppers
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Shoppers in Lincoln contended with cold temperatures on Black Friday morning to find the best deals.
It was 22 degrees around 7 a.m.
Emma, a shopper at Scheels, prepared with many layers and hot coffee.
“It was important to me to come out here and see what deals they have,” she said.
The National Retail Federation said 130 million people were expected to shop on Black Friday.
Experts said this will likely end up the biggest Black Friday ever online. Online sales are expected to top $9 billion, according to Adobe.
“The deals are everywhere,” said Bridget Carey, senior editor of CNET, a consumer website. “They’re online, and you can do it all before you eat Thanksgiving dinner this time.”
And for some shoppers coming from far and wide, in-person sales were a two-for-one deal.
A Nebraska fan and an Iowa fan drove several hours.
“We had to be here at 7 from Colorado.” said Dylan. “We’re going to the football game, so we’re just shopping around.”
