Cold Monday Morning Commute, Mild by Tuesday
Winds look to diminish shortly after sunset for southeast Nebraska as we head toward a chilly start to the work week. One more day of below-average temperatures on Monday before mild weather will return for the middle of the week.
Temperatures will fall to the single digits above and below zero tonight will a light breeze.
Clear skies and snowpack look to put Lincoln on the wrong side of 0 degrees for our low temperature tonight.
Lighter winds are expected late Sunday and into Monday, but a few spots will still have wind chills below zero early Monday morning.
StormCast keeps us clear through the overnight hours and for the start of the work week on Monday.
It will be a frigid morning commute in Lincoln, with temperatures close to zero.
Temperatures recover fairly well by Monday afternoon, with temperatures in the lower 30s for those with snow still on the ground, and upper 30s to lower 40s for those with bare ground.
Winds shift to be out of the south and east tomorrow which should help us get rid of some more snow on Monday in Lincoln.
Our next best chances of precipitation will arrive Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday. Long-term runs of StormCast keep Lincoln with rain chances, though a southerly shift of this system would give us a shot at a few flurries.
Mild temperatures will continue for the majority of the work week, reaching their peak on Friday in the upper 60s. We are starting to see a signal for another blast of colder air next weekend, which could bring another chance of precipitation.
