Columbus man charged with child enticement after trying to meet 15-year-old girl

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Columbus man was arrested Friday after police say he made plans to meet up with a girl who he believed to be 15-years-old.
On July 9, a Special Victims Unit investigator posing as a 15-year-old Lincoln girl on social media received a friend request from 37-year-old Martin Gomez.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, the conversation became sexually explicit, including unsolicited photos sent by Gomez.
After weeks of talking, plans were made to meet in person at Mahoney Park in Lincoln and get a hotel room together.
Just before 1:30 p.m. Friday, Gomez arrived at the park and was arrested by LPD SVU investigators.
Gomez was lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of child enticement by an electronic device.
