Combine built in Grand Island wins Coolest Thing Made in Nebraska contest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A combine built in Grand Island has won the Coolest Thing Made in Nebraska contest, officials announced Monday.

CNH Industrial’s AF Series Combine was revealed to be the champion of the fourth annual competition at the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce’s Manufacturing Summit.

In a press release, the chamber said the combines boast the “industry’s largest grain tank and a fuel efficient engine,” while also featuring the latest in automation and harvesting technology.

The combine beat out 15 other finalists in three rounds of voting, like Dorothy Lynch salad dressing and Valentino’s pizza sauce.  Over 40,000 votes were cast this year.

Dustin Alexander, CNH Industrials Grand Island plant manager, said winnin the award was an “incredible honor.”
