The skyline of the Haymarket is about to change.
"Today together we’re announcing that Olsson Associates will expand with a new 4 story building immediately south of their current location," said Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler.
Monday morning Olsson Associates along with Mayor Beutler announced a major expansion to their West Haymarket location.
The project will double the space of their current location at Canopy and P Streets.
"We started having to expand to accommodate our growth and expand off site across the street at another building," said Brad Strittmatter, CEO of Olsson Associates.
Out of the $19 million dollar price tag for the project. The city will provide nearly three million in tax increment financing, also known as TIF.
The expansion will provide enough space to house all Olsson Associates company as it continues to grow.
Office space isn’t the only thing the new building will feature. There will be almost 6,000 square feet of retail space.
"We’d love to get a restaurant user that would add to the mix in the west Haymarket and for all the entertainment purposes that it brings we’d love for that to happen," Strittmatter said.
Even though ground has yet to be broken on the new building, the company says it already has several businesses interested in the new space.
Construction is expected to start in the beginning of November and be completed by January of 2020.
